Narrative
It follows Elphaba, the future Wicked Witch of the West and her relationship with Glinda, the Good Witch of the North. The second part of the two-part feature film adaptation of the Broadway musical. Wicked first announced in April 2022 that it would be split into two films, with composer Stephen Schwartz explaining, “The truth is, we’ve been trying to make it for a while. a movie (that) required us to cut or leave out things that we wanted to include that we thought fans of the show and the story would appreciate." He added: “We found it very difficult to go beyond ‘Defying Gravity’. without a break. This song was written specifically to bring down the curtain, and whatever scene followed without a break felt very anti-climactic.
