Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails unite against a powerful new adversary, Shadow, a mysterious villain with powers unlike any they’ve faced before. With the advantage, Team Sonic must seek out an unlikely alliance. The creators of the previous films have mentioned playing both Sonikku adobenchâ 2 (2001) and the solo game Shadow the Hedgehog (2005) as inspiration. The film is also inspired by narrative elements from the Saturday morning animated television series Sonic the Hedgehog (1993).
